Ransomware Recovery

In 2015 Altons was hit with the Ransomware Wannacrypt and the businesses operations were ground to a halt. The virus had spread across the majority of Alton’s computer systems and getting day-to-day work done was impossible. As soon as we were notified of the issue, we made use of the daily backups to restore Altons system to operational capacity within 24 hours. If Altons had not had our systems in place, they would have had to start entirely from scratch or paid a hefty ransom (with no guarantee of the payment being honored).

Email Solutions

Alton Garden Centre needed an email solution to accommodate for its ever growing infrastructure. With over 100 members of staff they needed a system which was easy to use and has the ability to scale. The best solution for altons was a managed exchange service. Not only is this solution reliable and easily integrated to other services, we tied this in with a microsoft 365 subscription so they have access to full office applications for day to day business tasks. We were able to migrate everything over seamlessly to the new exchange software making sure for no loss in data or down time.

Inventory Management

Having a large amount of hardware in your business, it can be hard to catch issues before they become fatal. This can end up being a costly problem, often needing to replace whole systems and plus having a period of time where staff are left without a working computer. Alton Garden Centre was having issues with overheating CPUs causing their systems to run slow plus it was damaging other components within the system. We were able to flag up and fix all of these issues before they became fatal, saving them thousands of pounds in hardware replacement.

Network Infrastructure

Being a large retail brick and mortar business, having a reliable network infrastructure was key for altons. We set up a complete network of Windows 10 users, wifi access points and printers on a dedicated server managed by us. Having a centralised server with their digital assets all in one place has helped altons to safely organise, store and manage all of there work more efficiently. The wifi infrastructure has been set up so that its accessible via both customers and staff with no way to interfere with each other, keeping all the data safe but giving their customers a free wifi service and it gives altons a platform to capture customer data.

During this time there isn't much we have not done for them from installing and providing a complete network infrastructure to Phone lines and WiFi access points. We decided on an Alcatel Phone system for temple sutton primary, due to the easy to use nature and reliability of the system. We installed 40 phones throughout the school which are all run on SIP lines. All of the phones were installed seamlessly and worked with no issues. Plus the system is scalable so we are able to add on more phones if they need to.

Student & Staff Emails

With over 700 students and between 200-300 staff members, Temple Sutton primary needed to set up a network which allows the students and teachers to have their own dedicated users and emails to access school work and stay connected. We set up a G Suite for education system which allows students and teachers alike to collaborate on school projects, create virtual class rooms and also assign questionnaires, quizzes and can transparently mark the projects too.
